San Marino

 

I enjoy taking walks in San Marino, strolling along the quiet streets, appreciating the architectural charm of the homes, and the beautiful tree-lined neighborhood, and seeing neighbors take their children and dogs for walks. The neighborhood is beautiful, and I especially enjoy the Christmas tree on St. Albans Road.

 

Incorporated in 1913, picturesque San Marino was designed to be uniquely residential from the get-go and it shows. The impeccably maintained community features expansive properties that are surrounded by lush gardens and wide streets that make Angeleno's mouths drop in disbelief. Perhaps best known for housing the Huntington Library, a Neoclassical-Palladian mansion, and botanical gardens, San Marino also features the idyllic 30-acre Lacy Park, a colorful gift shop, Colori, and the popular Yoshida Sushi (try the blue crab hand roll). In one of the country’s most upscale neighborhoods, you’ll find multimillion-dollar Traditional, Georgian Colonial Revival, and Monterey Colonial homes and estates alongside significant designs from architects like Buff & Hensman. As an added bonus, the San Marino Unified School District is the best school district in L.A. County based on API scores and has been ranked as the number one school district in California.
